Privacy Policy

Effective date: 5 October 2026 · Version 5.1

Finscious is a Family Finance Suite: software that brings your household's whole financial picture — income, spending, bills, debts, savings and net worth — into one place and shows how each part affects the others. It is informational only. It is not a bank, a payment service, an investment adviser or a lender; it never moves your money and cannot act on your behalf; and nothing it shows you is financial advice — every figure is an estimate from what you enter, to be checked against your own bank and loan statements. This policy explains what personal data we handle, why, and the choices you have.

Who we are

Finscious is operated by Aryan Babar as a sole proprietorship; not an incorporated company, run under the business name Finscious Innovations. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, Aryan Babar is the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described here. Contact: legal@finscious.com.

Two ways to use Finscious

MODE

WHERE YOUR FINANCIAL DATA IS KEPT

Local-first (default)

Kept only on your own phone, in an encrypted database. We do not receive it.

GCS (optional, when offered)

Encrypted in a secure environment in Google Cloud (Mumbai, India) that Finscious staff cannot read. You choose it on a separate consent screen and can move back to Local-first.

What we collect

Account: your name and email address from Google sign-in, the date and version of each consent you give or withdraw, and your app settings, such as your email preferences and which in-app messages you have dismissed.

Notifications: a notification token, only if you turn notifications on.

Technical records: your IP address and the time when the app contacts our server, kept to run and protect the service.

Bank messages (optional): if you allow it, your phone reads bank transaction messages to record transactions. The message text is never sent anywhere. In Local-first mode the transactions stay on your phone.

GCS mode only: the financial data you keep there, and what you give Pay Smart for a check (such as an amount, a note, a voice clip, a photo, or the text of an offer, terms or message).

We do not collect your location, contacts or advertising identifiers, and the app has no analytics or advertising software. The price lists the app downloads are the same for everyone, so we do not see who looked up what.

How we use it

Only to run Finscious for you: to sign you in, keep your account, deliver the features you use and the notifications you turn on, answer your requests, and keep the service secure. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it for anyone else's purposes.

Who processes it for us

Google provides sign-in, cloud hosting, notifications and email, and, in GCS mode only, the AI that powers Pay Smart checks and categorisation. Postmark may be used to send our email instead of Google. Cloudflare serves our website. Each acts on our instructions and under its own terms; some may process data outside India.

Where it is stored

Our databases and security records are stored in India (Google Cloud, Mumbai). Short-lived server logs may be stored by Google outside India. All of it is encrypted in transit and at rest.

How long we keep it

Until you delete your account. After a 30-day period in which you can cancel, we erase what we hold about you, except security records (kept up to 400 days) and server logs (up to 30 days), which expire on their own, copies in our database backups until they are overwritten (within about 14 days), and any record the law requires us to keep, for as long as it requires. Data on your phone stays there until you uninstall Finscious or clear its data.

Your rights

See what we hold: Settings → Export what Finscious holds.

Correct it: tell us at legal@finscious.com.

Erase it: Settings → Delete My Account, or our deletion page.

Withdraw consent: in Settings, as easily as you gave it.

Nominate someone to act for you: email us from your account address.

Raise a grievance: our grievance form or the Grievance Officer. We acknowledge within 7 days and resolve within 30 days.

If we have not resolved your grievance, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Data breaches

If a breach affects your personal data, we will tell you without delay and notify the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.

Children

Finscious is only for people 18 or older. We do not knowingly hold data of anyone under 18; tell us and we will erase it.

Changes

We will update the date and version above. If a change is significant, the app will ask you to accept it again.
